  1. When I went into law enforcement many years ago, I couldn't wear glasses either.  But they would allow contacts.

The eye surgery previously mentioned has helped many people.  You might look into it.   Good luck

  2. Make sure to check the rules in your own country. As a civilian pilot in the United States you can wear glasses as long as they adequately correct your vision. It is likely that the surgery is completely unnecessary. MANY pilots wear glasses and it's fine. Don't get the surgery just because some random people on the internet think it might be a good idea.

I recommend that you get your medical certification prior to beginning training.

  3. People that do not know the correct answer should refrain from posting opinions.  The correct answer is that as long as your vision is correctable to 20/20 or better, you will qualify for a 2nd class medical (commercial) or 1st class medical(ATP), at least as far as visual acuity standards.

  4. Some do yes, but generally they needed them ~after~ they were employed by the airline. Not always though, some are not so strict about this.

The alternative is laser eye surgery. Many an airline pilot has undergone it, including a few in the military.

  5. Yes, some have them after they became a commercial pilot. But it's okay to have spectacles(provided the "degree" is the kinda low. Around 100 to 200 when you still can see without your spectacles). If you really want to become a commercial pilot, I will say you go for laser eye surgery(after the age of 21 or so).

  6. Most commercial pilots wear glasses.
