My cruise line cancelled my ATV excursion through El Yunque. Not sure why yet. Does anyone know of a company/outfit that will pick you up at port & bring you to El Yunque for an ATV experience? Any help will be appreciated!! Thank you.

  1. El Yunque in Puerto Rico is not necessarily an ideal place to go ATVing for many reason, first this is a small patch of rain forest in Puerto Rico and there're a heck of alot of obsticles and wet mud in which you're definetely gonna get stuck frequently, also althought there may be some dug out trails in there most often these get covered up by foilage and rotted vegetation, if you fail to follow these few man-made trails thru this jungle you might get screwed, get lost in there, if you get lost in El Yunque over there at night you might have to dump your ATV and maybe even spend a night looking for a way out.  I wouldn't recommend going over there in that specific jungle for an ATV ride unless you got an experience guide who wouldn't mind going with you guys ATVing...otherwise you and some "gringos" may not cut it!

  2. i know a place taht offer ATV near el YUNque but i don't Know about transportation to get there. the place is called Hacienda Carabali and it is in the Luquillo Municipality. www.haciendacarabali.com

  3. Hacienda Carabali is the only place that offers it.

It was really fun- do the 2 hr tour if possible- good ride and a nice swimming  break in the middle.

Here is a review of my experience and their contact info:

You can contact them directly, I believe they will provide transportation for a fee.

Or you can rent a car.  Call Charlie's Car rental or Enterprise or Hertz- they  will pick you up from the cruise pier.

I would go with car rental- that way you can do something else before/after your tour- El Yunque hikes, the beach, lunch, shopping etc.

  4. You can rent a car at one of the cheaper places like Thrifty, Payless, Charlie's or Dollar car rental. For about $30 + gas you can rent an economy car. There are tour buses that can pick you up in San Juan & take you to el Yunque but it will cost more $.
