So, I have this problem where I absolutely hate when bedtime rolls around. I don't have nightmares or anything like that that makes me not like sleep, I just hate how... inevitable it is, I guess. I also hate how boring it is before you actually fall asleep. Even if it's just a few minutes, laying there is so boring. I can't stand sleeping. Anyone else feel this way? Any way to fix that? Preferably without sleeping pills.

  2. I was like that. I had a hard time just shutting down. I started reading in bed and that helped me get into sleep mode.

  3. try listening to some music and reading like really cheesy comics, like garifield. i had this problem and idk y but this really helped. and if u dont feel like reading cheesy comic book (haha) read a book by ur fave author. also, to make you fall asleep fast. lay down staight on  your head, either on your stomach or your back, and tighten your muscles as tight as you can go. starting with your toes(scrunch them up) and moving to your feet and shins, to your quads to your butt, to your stomach and abs, and ur chest(if u can) and when u get tp ur face scrunch up your mouth and nose and eyes as tight as you can. hold each muscle tension for about 7 seconds. good luck!

  4. I watch t.v till i fall alsleep.

  5. I used to be an insomniac, and I hated the lying in bed waiting for sleep.  When I moved into my own home, I made a point of never going to bed before midnight so that I would not lie awake for hours before falling asleep.  I found that the waiting to sleep was usually a good time, though, I could go over all the good things that were happening to me, day dream, and make plans for future good things.

  6. Hi there!

I used to have insomnia, and I've also take prescription Ambien and Non-prescription sleep aids like Tylenol PM or Benadryl (which are the same thing BTW).  I used to avoid going to sleep or taking my pills to help me sleep as well.  I set a few rituals up for myself, I have a special playlist on my laptop and cell phone that plays songs that make me feel secure and soothed.  I make sure my bed is the way I want it, with my favorite blankets and pillows.  I make my room as cold as I can using a window AC.  Lastly I take 3 mg of Melatonin.  It's all herbal, safe, easy and inexpensive.  I can stay occupied for a few minutes and then it will gently lull me to sleep-no time for boredom!

  7. Sounds like you are not being active enough during the day.  I start my day at 5:30 a.m. and go strong all day into the evening.  I am 58 and have never had trouble going to sleep.  As soon as I hit the pillow at night I am usually sleeping.  Just in case I don't though I have a tv in our bedroom that I turn on that automatically shuts off in 10 minutes.  I have never heard the tv turn off. Try a tv at night, if you can't to sleep, at least you will be entertained.  Good luck!

  8. put a thick blanket on and just enjoy the warmth that comes. before you know it your waking up and have to go to work or school, then you learn to hate that because you enjoy the warm bed so much.

  9. Go to Wal-greens and ask for L-Tryptophan.It's the chemical found in turkey. It works and you don't have a drug hang over!
