  1. Nail-polish remover (make sure it contains acetone) is often recommended, but it can discolor (and even melt!) some carpeting.

First, sop up all the glue that's still liquid (which it probably isn't, at this point), then, using a white cloth or a big chunk of paper towels, try wetting the area a little with warm, soapy water. Then, wet another white cloth/paper towels with acetone and DAB (DON'T RUB) the area until the glue dissolves. You might, though, make what would be a small stain even bigger.

I think it's best to bite the bullet and wait until you can tell your mom or dad. You might do more harm than good to the carpet using the above method, and your parents would have a better idea about whether there could be any plastic in the carpeting (which the acetone could melt). They  could also find a hidden spot on the carpet where they could experiment on the best method of doing the least damage when they start trying to getting the glue out.

Sorry this happened, but I think you should wait. Just give your parents the above information to show them that you realized what you had done and tried to find the best way to "fix it."

    Good luck.

  2. simply get a super glue remover at your local hardware store, that should take it out, exit the room and allow ventilation as with any spill.
