  1. You have to reset your iPod. This happened to me and not only screwed up my iPod, but also screwed up my computer. It's pretty easy and I'll walk you through.

If you have a normal iPod, (not a shuffle or iTouch)

    1.  Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Meaning, slide it to Hold, then slide of off so it is not on Hold)

    2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step. (meaning, just press and hold Menu and Center (Select buttons)

If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.

If you have a Shuffle or an older iPod, click the link I provided.

  2. First, try putting your iPod into disk mode, then connect it to your computer.

    Disk mode : http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?...

If that doesn't help, then see these links:

    The Five R's : http://www.apple.com/support/five_rs

iPod doesn’t show up in My Computer or in iTunes : http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?...

iPod is recognized by Windows but not iTunes : http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?...

After you have your iPod recognized by your computer, I would suggest that you restore your iPod in iTunes, to start fresh from the Sad iPod icon and recognition issues.

  3. turn off ur ipod & ur pc for 5 minutes

after 5 minutes turn both of them on

    both will work properly

    Enjoy.

  4. This happens to everyone at least once. Just turn off everything and plug it back in. The songs might not have downloaded so do it again.

  5. let it go dead overnight and then plug it in again.
