I accidentally copied JPEG files to a TDK DVD+R

I accidentally copied JPEG files to a TDK DVD+R 1-16x brand new disk and my computer will not recoginize the files. It says it is a blank disc. I cannot find a way to retrieve the JPEG files. They have been erased from the camera memory card. Any suggestions?
