right click on the desktop go to properties go to the desktop tab then click customise desktop then it is obvious from there unless your in vista then its a whole different story which I dont know from memory I would have to be at my other computer to help you wich is in storage right now

go to search.

1. go to my computer.

2. press crtl+F search recycle bin

3. If found then copy to dektop

if you have Vista, right click on desktop > personalize > change desktop icons> there it is!

Which OS?

For XP:

    *  Click Start, Click Run, Type GPEDIT.MSC, Press Enter

    * On the Left Column Expand Administrative Templates, click on Desktop

    * On the Right Column Find Remove Recycle Bin Icon from Desktop

    * Double click on it, A Property Window will Appear

    * Select Enable option, Press OK.

    * Refresh Desktop, Enjoy!

If you deleted the icon, then you must either write or export the registry key back. If you emptied it and lost your files, then you can use file recovery software.
