I deposited child care fee's into my sons old childcare account by accident. I contacted the bank and all they did was send a few letters to the other bank, and then after no response told me I was on my own. I have contacted the person who's bank account it is and she is giving me the run around. Does anyone know where I stand legally? It is quite a large sum of money.

  1. UNLUCKKKKKAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

  2. Was there a tracking number on the deposit? That way you can prove in court that the money was yours.

This happened to me, when I put the wrong checking acc # on a form.

  3. why don't you contact your son old childcare and told them you accidentally put the deposit to that account and ask them to get the money back, since you know where you accidentally send the money.

and let that person know if they don't return the fund that you will take legal action against them, may be then they will cooperate with you.

if not, I would recommend seek legal advice.

Hope it helps and good luck.

    Cheers

  4. Send a certified letter to the person stating that you are going to sue this person in court and they can tell the judge what reason they have your money and wont give it back.

If the judge finds in your favor, I would have punative damages awarded as well as the money you put into the account. That letter should be enough, but if not take it to the judge and let that person be humiliated before the courts....

  5. if it was me i would go to this person in person and i would get my money back and without any doubt i would get my money back or i would cause this person economic loss far greater than their dishonest gain.

  6. a lot of money you say.get a lawyer

  7. Well... I work in a bank but I'm confused about your question. Your son's account? So, who is the owner of the account you deposited the funds into? You or your son?

  8. the only way is to ask the person for the money back or take them to court

  9. Legaly you are in great shape. If you have the time to take it to court make sure you bring in a copy of the check (you can a copy from your bank) and all other paperwork that shows that you did not take your child to that childcare, maybe a witness or letter from someone at current childcare. good luck
