My school has a bidding system where you bid on classes, the top bids get into those classes, and then we have an event called Accomadations where you fill in the gaps in your schedule. It's really crowded and hectic and everyone's scrambling to get into classes, and i got put into Advanced Fiction writing. This class has a prerequisite of Creative Writing which i haven't taken. Should i go to the class anyway since im already signed up or should i switch out? Im fairly good at fiction writing, it's going to be my major, so it's not like i wouldn't be able to keep up.

  1. Most schools will allow you to drop within the first week of classes and use those funds for another class but you have to go to your student services to find out there policies.

  2. I think you should check to make sure you will get credit for that class if you stay in it.  Since it requires a prerequisite of Creative Writing, I wonder if you'll automatically be dropped by the 'schools computer system' when it realizes that you didn't complete the prerequisite....actually, I'm surprised it even allowed you into the class.  If you WILL get credit for it even though you didn't take the prerequisite first, then you should probably stay in that class and get it out of the way (if it's one of your required classes for your degree).  But if you won't get the credit or will end up being dropped (without you even knowing it), then you shouldn't be wasting your time in there.  Good Luck.

  3. Since your going to major in fiction writing you should just keep the class you have.
