I accidentally washed a Mini DV tape, will it still work?

It was in my pocket, inside of a plastic case.

Water got inside, but the film is in tact. Is this salvagable? I wont be able to test for a few days.

If its still wet it wont work....

It may still be OK, just be sure it's completely dried out before trying to play the tape.  If you have any desiccant packs (usually packed with consumer electronic components), use them to help absorb the moisture.

I'd also suggest that before playing the tape for the first time, hand-wind the tape to check if any parts that may have stuck together.
