My cockatiel was 1 year old. I had a roommate moving in and so I had to move my birds to my parents' house until I could condition their new room. I placed them in my car and left them there for about 20 minutes, while I placed everything else in the car. When I finally sat down to drive. My cockatiel was at the bottom of the cage, lifeless. My budgies were fine. I loved my Alfie and I cannot get over what I so stupidly did. I have decided to permanently leave my budgies at my parents' since I don't want to hurt them. :( . I have to work and I cannot stop thinking about my Alfie and how she trusted me with her life and I failed miserably. I miss her too much :(

  1. im sorry for your loss, it is the worst feeling in the world to lose a bird like that but you didnt know it was going to happen

  2. I don't think it's your fault at all. You didn't fail her, it really doesn't seem like you could've done anything different to what you did in a way that would've saved her. It sounds like something scared her, but this could've happened where ever she was. Don't blame yourself, get your budgies back, it's not your fault, you won't kill them because you didn't kill Alfie, she unfortunately passed away, which is such a sad thing, but not your fault.

  3. Aww hun don`t feel bad it could of been anything.  Could of happened to anyone.  I'm sorry about your loss.

  4. Sorry about your loss. It could have happened to any one. Maybe it was too hot outside or maybe Alfie was just taken away to a better place early. Its not your fault so don't beat yourself up. Good luck and my prayers are with Alfie.

  5. I am so sorry to hear about your bird. But please don't blame yourself. She may have fluttered and hurt herself during the 20 minutes you had them in the car. Unless it was awfully HOT outside there please don't blame yourself. Your bird could have had a problem long before you moved her. I understand how you feel but you can't predict when your pet will passaway. The good LORD needed another angel and chose yours to take. Once your heart mends you will be ready to get another cockatiel you will love even more.

  6. Thats so sad...could it have been something else since the other birds were fine, they are even smaller and you would think more sensitive.Don't blame yourself, I think it was a coincidence, your birds know you would never hurt them!

  7. I'm So sorry Im sure it wasn't your fault. I love Cockatiels, that's so sad. I think you should keep your other birds, It wasn't your fault Alfe died.
