I accidently left my oyster card in my shirt pocket whilst it was in the washing machine, will it be OK?

It was in a wash cycle at 40 degress celsius

Can I still use it?

    A damaged Oyster card may not operate the card readers.

    •

    A damaged ticket may not operate the ticket gates at Tube or National Rail stations.

    •

    A damaged Oyster card or ticket may not be accepted by a ticket inspector.

    Be careful where you keep your Oyster card or ticket.

    •

    If your Oyster card fails to work on the card readers, ask at any Tube station, where it can be

    replaced free of charge. If you are unable to do so, visit tfl.gov.uk/oyster or call the Oyster

    helpline on 0845 330 9876.

    The encoded information on the back of printed tickets can become damaged if it comes into

    close contact with magnetic objects such as handbag clasps, keys and security passes.

    •

    If your printed ticket is damaged or becomes illegible, ask at any Tube station where it will be

    replaced for free
