Question:

I accidently put flea medicine (frontline) on my cat that was for the dog. Has anyone done this too?

So far, she seems ok, but still worried and the 800# is closed.

  1. I think depending on how many lbs the dosage was for, it can be poisness to the cat. I would take the cat to the ER vet or ASAP in the morning its your call.


  2. It's all the same stuff, the dog's dose is just bigger.

  3. What size dog was it for? It should be ok because both the cat and dog contain the same product but the dog  contains more than the cat. I think the under 22lb dog is actually the same thing as the cat dosage. If you are really worried you could  bathe your cat and that would rid it of the product.


  4. that's okay! it is all the same stuff! they (frontline) actually did research in which they made all these poor animals ingest an extremely high amount and they all were fine. Frontline is safe and non-toxic. Don't worry. I get this question all the time at the clinic I work at. Your cat will be fine!

  5. It's safe.It contains the same ingredient.But how much does the dog weigh? An overdose can cause redness or irritation at the application site,so just watch out for any redness or hair loss.
