I just started Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo last friday. In a rush to start the birth control I accidently took the wrong pill. Instead of taking the first white pill, I accidently took the second to last light blue pill. I was thinking that I would take all the pills as scheduled and when the that blue pill day comes I should just take the first white pill so that I would be on schedule. I asked my friend about it and she said I would have to wait a whole month and start taking the pills again. But I just finished my period and I don't want it to come back. What should I do?

  1. THROW IT UP!

  2. Just take the right pills immediately. You should know in general what to do (see below).

  3. Have you been taking the white pills since that day?  If you have just keep on that schedule and when it comes to that last pill, don't take anything.  That last week is just placebos.  Don't start your next pack early.  Just take everything as normal.  Now, if you haven't taken any more pills you may need to wait until  your next period to start to make sure you don't have a lot of breakthrough bleeding.  This can happen when you change the hormone cycle suddenly.

  4. The blues are placebos, so just take your pills as usual starting with the first one.  when you get to that missed blue pill, don't take that pill that day.

  5. Don't worry, the pill you took was a placebo pill. It's very important to stay on track. You should've just taken the first white pill as usual.
