  1. The best way to know if the baby is doing (and going to be) okay, is to go to a vet, and have the veterinarian check them out.

    Good luck!

  2. do not disturb the mother and the baby. if the mother is not spending time with the baby than there may be a problem, but getting your scent on it wont help anything. the mother should be feeding the hedgehog if all goes well.

here is a site you should check out

  3. i know you may get this alot but call a vet... the best choice

  4. First, DO NOT take the animals to the vet. Hedgehogs are very irritable when they have hoglets with them and may resort to cannibalizing their litter. Take her wheel out because some mothers will run and not tend to their baby, or take their baby with them to run which is also a no-no. Make sure her cage is in a quiet area of the house. If you have pets or young children, keep them away. If they are in a very noisy part of the house, move the cage to a quiet room, like a spare bedroom/bathroom/closet that you can stay out of for a little while. For the next two weeks, do not disturb them other than to quietly go in and switch food/water.

The the mother will take care of the hoglet... just cross your fingers. If you find the hedgehog out of the cage, do not touch him. Use a spoon to carefully lift him back into the nest.

Go to this website: www.chins-n-quills.com. Many people there have raised hedgehogs by hand and will let you know more about what it all entails.

Good luck! Just be patient for now and hope for the best. (((HUGS)))

  5. umm oviously go to a vet but pretty much just observe the behaveir if there eating and drinking all the regular stuff
