I hear he's saying the Myanmar cyclone is due to global warming. In general he's probably right that it's a big issue. But to take one event and say it's due to global warming is akin to saying it wouldnt have happened without global warming which is kind of silly as no one can say either way. Doesnt that hurt his credibility?

  1. I do not think Al Gore's accusations are hurting his credibility.

This is not the first time Al Gore has taken a natural disaster and "blamed" it on global warming. He has had the same views since the late 80's, early 90's.

The fact that all of these natural disasters is just proving his point. And you are right about something, no one can really say if his assumptions are accurate or not.

  2. Yes.  Unfortunately (as he found out with the internet invention thing) politicians have to be very careful about how they word stuff or they can be easily quoted out of context and discredited.  I think in 50 years when we all realize he was right all along he wants to get credit for at least trying.

  3. I agree with you.  But he's not a scientists, he's a politician.

And one golden rule of politicians is to do unto others as.....

The deniers make even more absurd emotional arguments.  Look at some of the ones in the answers to this question.  When he sees an opportunity to make points, he takes it.

Wouldn't be what I'd do, but me telling Al Gore what to do is a pretty silly concept.

  4. It's like saying one below average cold day means there is no global warming. But it's ok for the alarmists to use that strategy.

  5. gore should keep his lying trap shut.  his credibility went out the window with his inventing of the internet, his lying liar movie, and his private jet.

  6. 1st, Al Gore is an idiot, who needed his name in the news and chose to open his mouth after thousands of people are dead.

2nd, Was he/you/me around hundreds of thousand of years ago to see how the weather was ? NO.

The earth has been changing since it's birth, it has gone through ice ages, comet/asteroids hits, Volcanoes erupting to the point where earth was probably on fire.

It will continue to change whether you/ME/Al Gore is around to see it.

To buy in to the global warming c**p is stupidity at it's best.

He's just a wanna be famous person who has already had his 15 minutes of fame and now needs to go into hiding.

  7. He is so full of c**p...............

  8. there were same suggestions on hurricane Katrina , why stop there ...

  9. People are going to go after Gore any chance they get. It is too bad that he has to be the spokesperson for GW because there are certain people who won't listen to anything said on the subject JUST because of that. I think the reaction to his statement (which seemed perfectly benign, obvious, accurate, and scientifically true to me) is attack politics. People purposely ignore the actual meaning of the statement to spin it the worst way they can.

  10. I think Al Gore just needs attention after all he is just trying to save us from "Man Bear Pig" he is super cereal   South Park gotta love them.

  11. yes it does in a way.  also, a beetle in Canada was eating trees like crazy and people blamed global warning, but in reality it was just a natural cycle.  while it is a real issue, not everything is because of global warning.  we need to control what we do to the planet, but there will always be hurricanes and storms, etc.  also, a scientist said that while the planet was warming up in the 90's, it has suddenly stopped.  we should fix our environmental problems, but keep in mind that we haven't had recorded history for the entire length of earth's history.  there is plenty we don't know still.  and also, in his movie, An Inconvenient Truth, wasn't he travelling in his private jet?

  12. Everything AL Gore says hurts his credibility.

  13. THE CYCLONE MORE THAN LIKELY WAS NATURALLY, MAYBE, BUT THE SIZE OF IF WAS  CAUSED BY WHATS PART OF GLOBAL WARMING'S EXCESSIVE'S FORCE. SAYING IS ONE THING, BUT EXPRESSING YOURSELF IS MORE IMPORTANT.
