I already bought my ticket home?

I bought my ticket home in advance. I want to change it; two weeks earlier. I am using american airlines. Are you able to change it? Does it cost extra money; if so how much? How much in advance do you have until you HAVE to tell the airport?

Changes in schedule depend on the availability of seats and season as per airline company policy.

Do it at the earliest.
