Needless to say, I failed all of my classes because I just didn't feel like it anymore. Now I have decided to go back but this time just go ahead and work on my Master's degree on-line and of course at a different university. I just figure that I will not say anything to the on-line school and show them my completed transcript from my previous university where I got my B.A. What I am worried about though is my financial aide...will I or will I not be able to still get it?

  1. When you apply to a new school, they will ask you for the names of ALL the schools you have attended.  You can't "pick and choose" where you have attended.  It is all a part of your academic history and should be included.  There are several national databases to track this so "forgetting to mention" it won't work and will likely get your application thrown in the trash.

You have a legitimate and documented reason for your actions.  No school with a heart would fault you for breaking down after loosing the love of your life.  Be honest and explain the situation.  They will let you know what  you need to do to get your fin aid and get you back on track.

  2. I'm pretty sure that you can still get it.  My brother got a B in medical school a few semesters ago so he got kicked out and lost his financial aide because that was considered failing, but he went back and received financial aide again this time.  There are lots of government grants out there that you can receive.  And you can always apply for student loans and pay them back later.
