  1. There are LOTS of small dogs that don't shed but if you insist...you should try a guinea pig...they actually shed a lot, but they are very SWEET !

  2. Consider adopting a couple of rats (either 2 girls or 2 boys).  They're sweet, smart & really make awesome companions.  They're quieter than birds or guinea pigs (if this is an issue), friendlier & more interactive than hamsters or fish, and they'll adapt their schedule to yours-- they'll be happy to hang out with you any time of day or night.

The best place to adopt rats is from a shelter or rescue.  Good breeders are another great place.  Pet shops are ok if you don't live near a breeder or rescue, & if you adopt from a shop that sells rats specifically for pets (not "feeders") you'll usually get healthier & better-socialized animals.  We've had some very sweet "feeder" pets, too however.

Do some research before you decide on rats, or anyone else for that matter, to find out their needs & figure out which companiuons are the best "fit" for you.

  3. How about:

    A hairless dog

    A rat

    A mouse

    A rabbit

    A guinea pig

    A ferret

    A chinchilla

    A Royal Python

    Hope that helps! =]

  4. you really should get a guinea pig. they communicate with you. i have two and every morning i say guineas and they squeak for joy. lol.and when they're happy they popcorn in the air. you should get one at the animal shelter. not from a breeder or the pet stores. guineas from pet stores are neglected

  5. a guinea pig they r small and keep y u good company

also you can get a budgie as they r great sit on your shoulder and r great mates

  6. some type of bird ( my birds won't stop talking ), or a fish, rat, or bunny.

  7. You could try a turtle, lizards, mice, hamsters, guinea pigs, fish, rabbits, and there are non-shedding dogs and cats

you could one of those naked cats..lol

  8. There are some dogs and cats that don't shed very much.  How about a rabbit?

  9. Whomever said chinchilla has no idea! Chinchilla's shed about 5x as much as dogs and cats!

    I would suggest:

~Fish (endless opprotunities here, you could have a massive fish tank and really cool fish or a small 10 gallon tank with a school of guppy.---Fish can be entertaining because if you have a large enough tank to have a fish such as a black ghost knife, they can be trained to eat out of you hand, and my lace catfish is so amusing so are ghost shrimp!)

~Gerbil (they are VERY active, so they don't like to be cuddled but they are very entertaining to watch and they will tolerate being held for a little bit but seem to get fidgity, also if you decide gerbil is your way make sure you get 2 because they are very social creatures)

    ~Turtle

~Iguana (get extremely large so if you don't have the room and a proper cage do not even attempt, but they are really interesting animals)

    ~Gecko

~Hamster (although cute and fury they tend to bite more often then not)

    ~Bird of any type

~Bearder Dragon (once again really cool and interesting and they don't mind being held as much)

    ~Chameleon

~Hermit Crab (these are obviously non shedding but they do molt and change shells, I have had three and so far I LOVED my first one, never pinched me and I actually took him on walks, he would sit on my arm and I would walk down the street, the two after him did pinch and I couldn't take them on walks, so they all have a personality of their own)

~Snake (obviously not the cuddly type but they sure are fun to play with, my uncle had 2 4ft pythons and we would let them play in the kiddie pool, however if you don't want to feed them other animals don't get them...)

    ~Degu

    ~Hedgehog

~Mouse (like the tiny feeder mice, they are soo cute and not hard to take care of)

~Fancy Rats (once again social animals)

All of my suggestions that have () afterwards I have experience with

  10. Parakeets are great pets because you can teach them tricks, they don't shed and their songs are lovely!
