  1. There are a million possible reasons. Maybe your talent level isn't there. Maybe you haven't had enough training. Maybe you just haven't paid your dues yet. There's a million possible reasons, and it's likely a combination of several.

Remember, when a person is casting a show, there are a lot of factors, not just who's the most talented. For one, if you happen to look like an ugly stepsister, you'll never be cast as a romantic ingenue, no matter how fabulously talented you happen to be;it's an extremely rare case when a role is cast against type. Also, the director also has to think about things like who will be a bigger draw for people to come see the show. If it's an amateur production, the director has to deal with things like making the organization seem fun and popular so people will want to keep participating, and thus people who are popular in the community will always be first in line for the best roles.

Always behave like a professional in rehearsals (people would rather work with someone who isn't difficult), network as much as you can (people would rather work with someone they know), and never ever stop training (people would rather work with someone who's knowledgeable and polished than someone who's just trying to skate by on natural talent).

  2. well so far thats what it seems to be. Its all about wether you fit the type of character.

  3. it might not be that your not good enought but it might be that you just dont fit the roll of the ppl doing the play dont feel you have enough experience for a leading roll. just keep on taking smaller roles and practice hard!!!! you'll get better!!!!
