I always get a bit nervous before a flight. I think about all the things that could go wrong, etc. What can I do about it?

  1. Think about crashing upon landing, there's nothing more satisfying than to give up your life to the circumstance. There is absolutely nothing you can do about it, yet you're entirely free.

  2. Try to relax. You could try different reathing techniques such as breathing deeply in through your nose and out through your mouth. If that fails there are hypnosis tapes the help you overcome your fear. Remember that thousands of flights go out each day, with an extremely small amount of things ever going wrong.

  3. Being a little nervous before flying is completely normal. I get a little anxious myself. If you're over 21, I suggest getting a drink on the plane (don't get drunk) to calm your nerves. If you're really scared of flying, so much so that you have panic attacks, do what my friend does and get a presciption of Valium from a doctor. Her's gives her just enough for the flights. if you don't want to go the drug/drink route, I suggest breathing exercises and finding things to distract you like reading a great book and listening to calming music (download some on your Ipod).
