I always dream about having a pet (I never owned one) and killing it. I also always dream I miss an exam or kept missing classes all semester (I've been outta school for 3 years).

  1. maybe you should see a psychiatrist

  2. Ive found for some strange reason pets can represent a more dependant naiever side of yourself.  When you dream about hurting or killing pets, its because you are doing some sort of emotional damage to yourself.

Missing exams and classes is definately a symbol of fear of failure.  Do you push yourself too hard to acheive?  Do you find yourself crisitising even when you have succeeded?  Take some time out and learn to reward/accept achievements.

  3. I wish I knew too! I've been out of high school AND COLLEGE for years, and I still have dreams that I'm in high school, it's at the end of senior year, and I forgot to go to this one class all year, so I'm not going to graduate. I tell myself in the dream that it doesn't matter - I have a college degree! - but my dream self still freaks out about not graduating high school. Bizarre. The only thing that varies in the dream is what class I skipped. Sometimes it's band, and other times is some kind of math course.

  4. To me, the link between both dreams is responsibility. The pets/classes are yours to nurture and you're not doing that. So you fail exams/the pet dies.

I think you need to look at what responsibilities you have in your life (if any) and you need to step up. It's like a warning. The fact that you haven't been in school in 3 years immediately leaps out at me.

Do you feel that you have a responsibility regarding your education? That you failed in some way or that you really need to get back into it?

Good luck. I know you'll figure this out :)

  5. I'm no expert at this, but maybe you're really stressed out and it's affecting your dreams.

  6. you're a very evil person, you are paying for your past life

  7. The having a pet, then killing it, is a manifestation of your fear that you will not live up to the expectations of others.  The pet represents something you would be totally responsible for such as a pet, or possibly a baby.

The missing exams is an indication that you feel like you are passing life milestones without touching them.  In otherwords you feel like you are not living up to the expectation you had of yourself at this age.

It seems to me that you want something more out of life, but you do not know how to get there.

  8. You need to build up your self esteem. That is what the dream is about. And having plants that die or getting fired from a job - all the same

  9. because ur bad luck..like me :p...

  10. How would we know?

  11. not that im a "dream expert" but it sounds like something is worrying you. are you having trouble with your job? or maybe your sub-conscious is telling you that you should have done better at something at school?

and in relation to having a pet perhaps its telling you your not ready for taking responsibility of someone else? ie (if your in a relationship etc your not ready to handle it yet)

  12. It's interesting that you got so many responses to this question (though not all are really helpful, are they?)  I think what it shows is that we all have these kinds of dreams, that it strikes a chord with people.

It seems to me that in your subconscious mind you feel you are a failure.  Pets are like children, they represent responsibility, and you don't feel up to responsibility, you feel you let people down, you can't be trusted to fulfill obligations, to keep up with your responsibilities.  Whether this is true or not, it's how you feel about yourself.

Missing exams is another form of responsibility, having to be in the right place at the right time, having to keep the appointment, and having to be PREPARED.  I used to have that same dream!  I find out somehow that my test is somewhere else and I have to rush there, and when I get there I realize I'm in my underwear (or worse), but nobody seems  to notice but me.

  13. sounds like there is some kind of problem in ur life right now, maybe something missing from ur life or somethin u want to achieve but cant.

  14. It might have something to do with a deeply buried fear of failure.

  15. not a genius  but i think its sumthin with responsibility

  16. i stoped reeding at "i always" but gawd ur a horable person. big floppy cats wuld not approve.

  17. Maybe because you did own a pet and then killed it a long long time ago in a galaxy far away and are still stuck in the incident?

  18. your mind is probably just going through your memories

  19. They may indicate your anxieties and fear of failing.  Perhaps you have taken on new responsibilities at work or something at home has changed to make you feel the pressure of your responsibility weighing down on you.
