  1. I have lived in Thailand now for many years and have found that the best way to buy stuff online is to use PayPal, it's normally accepted in situations where using my Thai credit card would cause problems or delays.

You can register for an account with paypal and the can charge your Kasikorn or Bangkok Bank account without the need for a actual credit card, it's safe and reliable.

I find it's cheap and esy to buy stuff on ebay, just look out for worldwide shipping.

Western retailers often assume that Thailand orders are likely to be fraudulent as they cannot confirm Thailand address with the credit card company unless the address is presented in Thai language, but they don't support Thai language so basically they cannot confirm address.  Paypal makes it easy and PayPal accept Thai customers.

Hopefully things will get easier and the rest of the world will accept orders from Thailand in the future.

Note that most Thai debit cards (the ones with "Electronic Use Only" written on them will not work for online purchases, use Kasikorn Web Card or BBL Be 1st card via Paypal instead.
