  1. plants and flowers die because they need to be pollenated to grow, and with no bees there would be no pollenation.

2.) there would be no bees...

3.) not exactly, noone would get stung but it would be a world with no flowers, some kinds of vegtables (like corn) and no honey, so i say keep the bees!

    4.)there would be no mosquitos

5.) i think the world would be much better, no more itching stings and mosquito born illnesses

  2. no one would get stung by them bees

  3. 1-i never saw bee movie but its because bees help pollinate the flowers. they land on the flower and the pollen goes on their bodies and is transferred to a different flower (the pollen is kind of like sperm for flowers) and then the seeds can form and all

    pollination: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pollination

2-probably the amount of plants would decrease and people would have to use tools to pollinate flowering plants and the amount of fruits and vegetables being produced would go down we might have a food crisis

3-no, it would be horrible. bees help us have food. and if you think they are pests because they sting it is probably because people flip out when they are near a bee and the bee gets scared and thinks you are attacking. it pisses me off so much when people wave their arms and scream when bees are near IT WOULD NOT STING YOU IF YOU WERE CALM AND SAT STILL.

4-i'm not sure, maybe less malaria and less harmful spraying. i don't know much about the role they play in the world but im sure they play their part somehow, however annoying they may be

5-maybe a bit less annoying and less disease spread by bugs, but as i said before i am not sure if they are important in other ways

  4. 1]  Bees pollinate plants; this means they move the pollen to the ovary of the plant so that the ovum can be fertilized and grow into a seed, which can grow into a new plant.  A plant will not die from not being pollinated, but it will not be able to produce the next generation, unless they could also reproduce by an alternate means, like cloning.

2]  If all the bees died, the plants that need them for pollination would not be able to produce fruit or seeds.  So these species would eventually become extinct unless they could also reproduce by cloning.  Not all plants are pollinated by bees; they are pollinated in other ways. Some plants reproduce by spores or other means than pollination.  Also, some plants reproduce by various forms of cloning, such as: bulb and tuber division; runners; a piece of plant growing roots when it touches the ground; etc.  So if all bees died, many plants could still reproduce.

3]  The world would not be a better place.  We would lose a lot of plant species, among them some of our favorite fruits and nuts.  But we would survive all right.

4]  If mosquitoes all died out, it would be the end of a major source of food for migratory birds in the summer in certain parts of the world.  Perhaps this niche would be filled by other insects however, and the birds would still get enough to eat. No mosquitoes would eliminate malaria from the world.

5]  So in this sense it would be a big benefit to humans.  But I don't know what kind of insects would fill in the niche to feed the birds and perhaps feed off humans and animals, and I don't know what effects they might have or what diseases they might carry.  So I cannot be sure that the elimination of mosquitoes would be a net benefit to humanity.

  5. Scudder boy:

bees are an interesting subject, but no fun to get stung by. I haven't seen the movie, but pollination is not a nutritional event for plants, it is a reproductive event and as such, a plant won't die if it isn't pollinated it simply won't reproduce, and therefore the species could be in danger of extinction but that individual plant will not have a shorter life span due to lack of pollination

  6. In our world we are all dependent on eachother in a million small ways a lot of plants depend on bee, a lot of animals depend on the plants so on and so forth so if there were no bees it would only hurt us... and honey is yummy..
