  1. that is something I would ask a doctor, but I don't see why it would be much of a problem. If you pass your physical, I don't see why it would be much of a problem. I will however note that it would be extremely uncomfortable at times because of all the G's that you pull and the changing pressures experience in a fighter plane. If you experience pain, I would suggest becoming a private pilot, which is a more relaxed position in which you can still pilot a plane without pulling many G's or drastic pressure changes.

I believe you may also be able to have a procedure done to your ear canal to change the current configuration of you ear canal to allow it to deal with pressure changes more easily.

  2. I take flying lessons and my ears used to pop too. In December I had to get ear tubes. Ear tubes are these teeny tiny little tube things they put in your eardrum.   http://www.entnet.org/healthinfo/ears/Ea...

They help drain fluid in your ear if you have a lot of ear infections. I noticed that when I fly my ears never pop anymore. I only go to about 5000 feet, but when I flew on an airline last week at 35,000 feet, still no popping. My mom's ears popped, but not mine. I think it's great. It works because the pressure can equalize easier because air goes through the eustachian tube easier. It requires just a minor surgery. If your tough local anesthetics, if your a wimp like me general anesthesia. Trust me it works.
