  1. get a 9 ft. soft surfboard.

you need the length for stability and paddling.

the soft boards are good for noobs since when you fall and your board hits me in the face as im paddling by I won't have to get stitches!

  2. Dude...check out your local surf shop.  The guy there can hook you up with what you should have.

  3. Noobs start with larger boards. Easier to lear n then work your way down. Start with a 7 footer and then after 2 years get a 5ft8  to 6ft smaller board with 3 fins so you can learn to cut and 3rd year you should be doing it on the wave. Boosh wa!!!

  4. Try a bigger fish.  They're easier to paddle and catch waves with.  The more waves you catch, the faster you'll get better.  Check out 9:Fish Surfboards' 7'4" Hammerhead or 8'4" Koi.  Both should work well for you.
