  1. Well, the first thing I'd recommend is just learn how to step on and off a bike. Get on your bike and pedal for a few feet, then stop and step off. Do that over and over until it's very comfortable. Then next time you feel like you might fall off your bike, you can use your brakes and step off just like that.

The next step I'd recommend, is practice general riding skills. Find some safe areas where you can ride where there won't be any traffic and practice turning, pedalling at slower and faster speeds, accelerating, descelerating, braking hard & braking soft, just getting an all around feel for bicycling. Build confidence in yourself and your bike, and before long bicycling will be so natural that falling won't be an issue.

After you learn to handle a bike very well, then slowly expand your range to riding around the neighborhood, maybe on a bike trail if one is available, staying off the heavy traffic roads, if possible.

Good luck!  Now get out there and ride! :)

  2. It only takes a few hours; you probably need someone patient to teach you, since you will fall over a few times.  But, as they say, once you learn you never forget.  I've never heard of schools but that doesn't mean they don't exist.  Most kids learn from a family member.

  3. dont think about falling. thats what i did  when i was 9 yrs old. just concentrate on where your going and dont think about falling.

    good luck mate :D
