  1. Of course you can! You shouldn't let that stop you from doing what you want to do. And ballet is a great way to get rid of all the extra weight. I used to take ballet but had to stop and i regret it to this day. I really enjoyed it.

    But I love ballet and the fredom it gives you to expres emotions. So I started dancing and I started rapidly loosing weight. My dance teacher is worried that Im getting to thin...

  5. a direct and honest non BS answer from a dancer (yours truly) would be...yes you can, but lose the weight first. this way you're not wasting your money. go see shows and read about it. If you attend ballet in your state it would be nothing more than an overpriced pilates class because you will be struggling to do movements and wasting your time.

    Furthermore, there are some teachers who will just put you in the back and make you do aerobics the whole class.

    You haven't given enough info...How much is a "little" overweight. how much to you weigh and what is your height?

  7. Go for it - its a good way to get fit and in shape . Its far better on your joints then jogging.

    I am 40 and still a little overweight and still do ballet class twice a week including Pointe work

  10. yes you can still do ballet....you may not be a prima ballerina, but  you can absolutely still dance. Dancing may even motivate you to lose weight and the extra exercise will help make your muscles leaner and more flexible.

    Don't let your weight stop you from doing something you really want to do.....if you want to do ballet, then do ballet...
