  1. At 13 it is unlikely that any company or business would hire you.  Can you help out with chores in your neighborhood?  Do a paper route?  Ask your parents for ideas about how you could make some extra money.  Do you have chances to babysit?  Cutting grass or yardwork will soon be an option.  Those are the usual things for a 13 year old.  Best of luck.

  2. you can pick up a paper route, thats what i did when i was thirteen

  3. Most places don't hire 13 year olds. Try babysitting.

  4. I agree -  what else could you possibly do at your young age besides babysitting or delivering leaflets and/or newspapers door to door?

Maybe you could try selling stuff online but you will probably need your folks' help and permission on that!

    Good luck to you buddy!

  5. I don't know about shoveling snow....but I guess that a paper route is a good way to earn some money.

If you didn't shovel snow during winter...does that make you lazy??? My guess is that being 13 is a tough age, and if you are shy, it's even more difficult to find a job.

I live in California...yes nice weather..my kids are doing babysitting and they get paid $ 10 to $13 for an hour.

Ask your parents and go on: Craigslist . Type babbysitting.

I wish you good luck to find your first job.

  6. I'm 15 and live in Montreal.

I was hired at 13 to babysit, and that's about it [and my neighbour's gardening :p]

If you're lucky, maybe a snack shack at a public outdoor pool will hire you.

Lots of my friends are only starting to work now, you have to be 15 or 16 to work somewhere. I'm not in a rush to get a job myself, but good luck! =)

  7. Yeah unless you find some shoddy place that is into child labor then you're pretty much stuck with babysitting or a paper route. I had a paper route at your age and made lots in tips by being friendly, on time and funny. Seniors, I found, love cute, funny kids so if you get on a route with nice and/or seniors you should be able to get lots of tips. If paper routes are anything like they were when I was growing up  in NB, cuz they're sure a LOT different than out here in BC. (No one collects money and therefore the people delivering don't get tips. At least that I know of... I don't tip my paper delivery guys... maybe I should!)

Anyway yeah so that's pretty much all you can do. Maybe offer to do some odd jobs, like yard work, for your neighbours or family friends? Have a yard sale. Tell your parents you'll organize the whole thing if they let you keep all the money (my parents let me do that, saved them from having to haul a bunch of c**p around, even tho they did help haha I'm sure your parents would too.)

    Good luck!

  8. If you haven't earned any money shovelling all winter you're way too lazy for anyone to hire you now.

  9. Why don't you get a bagging job at publix or something i live in montreal too. Im canadian
