  1. Size is insignificant when determining distance, your clubhead speed does. Anyway, a skilled young teenager's average drive should be around 250 yards.

  2. maybe 240-250 yards im 13 and hit it bout 215-220

  3. Size is not a determining factor in gauging distance.  Clubhead speed and contact quality control distance.

  4. prolly 250-260

  5. So please tell us what's above average for a 14 year old golfer. Stick with what you have until you grow up.

  6. However far you can hit a controlled shot, it's not about distance, your wasting your time trying to be a long ball hitter most of the pros will tell you, they have had to learn to throttle back on the driver because it gets them in trouble. Think about it, if you hit the ball 250yrds, and go right, you won't be OB as often as if you hit the ball 330yrds, because the further you hit it the better chance you have of getting into trouble. Believe me, I can hit the ball 300 plus on average and I was always in trouble until I finally got smart and started hitting 275 in the fairway. My score went from 87 to 70 in no time. Remember, the score card doesn't ask how far you hit the ball, it ask how many strokes it took to get in the hole. Why did Phil lose at Wing foot? He went for the big shot that end up costing him the trophy when he should have hit the 3 wood. Learn by others mistakes when you can.

  7. Like Chuck said above, quit worrying about distance.  Too many amateurs want to go out to the course and brag about how far they can hit it.

If you want to win tounaments/money/pride matches with your buddies the answer is hitting it straight, and practicing your irons, especially wedges, and putting, putting, putting.  I have several buddies that drive it 300+.  They hit it up there and have a wedge into the green, blade it, duff the chip and three put, and I save par, or put for birdies.  The old saying is still true today.  Drive for show, putt for dough.  If you want to win, focus on ALL aspects of the game and the driver distance will come as you mature, and learn how to make solid contact.  Another thing most people don't realize is that you don't have to swing really hard to hit the ball a long way.  Gripping it tight and swinging with your arm muscles actually slows down your swing.  Learn to make a good turn and use your legs to generate speed.
