  1. there are many highly intelligent people that have needed special education-so no it doens't mean you are stupid-

    google celebrities with learning disabilities

  2. It enables u to get extra help in subjects where needed. It does not mean you a a r****d.

  3. An I.E.P means that you will be able to get extra help in school for subjects that are difficult for you. Everyone learns in a different way and this is one way of helping you get the help that you need. Try not to be scared. It doesn't mean that you're a 'r****d' as you put it; it means that you're going to get help.

  4. an IEP is an Individual Education Plan. It depends on the specific problem you have. If you are having problems with acadmeic stuff you may end up in a seperate class for some sessions to get extra help.

If you have any other type of problem you will get assistance which will help you access the curriculum (school work) better.  If you have any behavioural problems you will probably get some sort of behaviour modification program within your IEP.

You seem to be smart enough to do a little bit of self advocacy. Ask if you can be involved in the IEP process. Then you get to decide on the goals which you want to pursue. And you may even be able to suggest some strategies which the adults (teachers, parents, medical proffessionals) haven't thought of. It will help you anyway, it will teach you about negotioation, team work, etc. And it is after all your education. So you're one of the best people to decide where to take it.

  5. I.E.P just means you are going to get extra help...i have a IEP believe me...its nothing bad or anything to stree about....i got extra time on test that was always good..its just to meet your needs..and it doesn't mean that you are a tard....everyone learns and understand things at thier own pace and time...its really nothing bad trust me...it also helps you reach your goal and get good grades because it works with you like i said to meet your specifi needs
