Question:

I am 14 and i love skateboarding but i just cant do an ollie because i cant balance in the air, Please help!!!

Hey everyone, i am 14 and i love skateboarding but i just cant do an ollie. I follow all of the instructions but after i pop the board up with my left foot i cant balance it. Please help because i am not really good at anything and i just want to exel in somthing for once.

  1. Get a balance board like an Indo Board.  Use it for about 20 mins a day and it will significantly improvise your balance in a few weeks.  

    Not everyone is good at street skating.  There are many other types to choose from.  My favorite is skating pools and bowls.


  2. Get down to Halfords and ask for some sky hooks to keep you up a bit longer and hold you in place

  3. like the other people said u jus have to practice. slide your right foot towards the nose just after you pop the board. go to a skatepark if u still cant get it and find someone who will teach you.

  4. The Beat way is to practice practice practice

    but in reality

    go to a bench and control your balance with your arms

    when you have popped the bottom twist and slide your other foot up the board til you have come off the ground dont worry about falling off because you will be holding onto the bench

    slide your other foot towards the nose of the board

    i havent boarded in awhile but thats how i used to do it

  6. i had this problem to when i was younger, i solved it by putting less wieght on my front foot when i popped the board up. also dragging your backfoot altheway up with you helps....when you ollie try and jump as high as you can and tuck  your knees

  7. um i think ive already answerd but it hasnt come up. just incase i will repeat it lol um, like someone said, practice is criticaly important, but one of the most, if not the most important element in street skating is simply relaxing. you have to combine what you have learnt, popping the tail down, leveling out the board with you front foot or whatever, all at once in a flow. so yeah, good luck and happy skating :)

  8. try bending down more and bringing you knees up more after you pop
