I am 14 years old and in year 10 at secondary school. I know 0 to 13 is a child and i know 13 to 20 is a teenager. When i was in year 7 i was 11 years old and felt quite grown up but now i am in year ten and i 14 years old i look at the year 7's and i realise now how young i was,i just couldn't see it at the time. I wonder if i am doing the same thing now i am in year ten thinking i'm all rown up and then when i'm say 18 i'll look back to year ten and realise how young i still was.Am i still very young? I know everyone is different some 14 year olds are more mature than others but as a whole, when you hear someones 14 do you think that is more towards a young child or more towards adulthood?

  1. Depends on the person and how they've been brought up.  You'll continue to grow and mature thru-out life.  In my opinion (and Ive been here on planet earth for 6 full decades) you become a different person every 10 years.

  2. nyes you ARe a child spend more time doing fun kid stuff and less time trying to be grow, you will be grown for a long time.

  3. No, you are still a child and it is not a good idea to give out personal information such as your age on here as there might be people with bad intentions towards children on here ...

  4. Yes, you are still a child, enjoy it.

This pattern you have noticed continues throughout life. When I graduated high school I thought I was adult. Then I went to work and found out how clueless I really was. I felt like a little kid among all the other much older adult staff, most of whom were only in their 30's at the time. I thought of them as old.  I still had a lot more maturing to do. At about 24 I realized how smart my parents were, I was growing up.

You, to me are still very much a kid. Don't rush becoming an adult. Think of it this way, you've got about 18 - 20 years to be virtually responsibility free, enjoy. After that you've got about 50 - 60 years of being a responsible adult. Enjoy what you've got now.

  5. Yes dear, you are still a child in my eyes, but a future adult in training. Have fun and enjoy being 14.

  6. you r a teen or a pre teen depends on your attitude

  7. i'm 14 aswell and i know wen in a year's time i will look back and laugh at all the stupid things i did

and yes i think i am still very  much a child. i am not yet able to be responsible for my own life and i dont think you are either

  8. I also started Year 7 at 11 - and the youngest in class. Yes, my peers were 12, 13 and 14 year olds too and I did feel a bit young.  Back then I realised that when I finished Year 12 I would have been technically too young to start uni and that seemed strange.  Nevertheless I didn't bother about finishing Year 12 as I became bored and maybe I just wanted to have some fun, for a time.  My thoughts are not to worry about whether you are a child or not, but how do you feel?  Perhaps school pressures can take some fun out of life, so make sure you make the most of free time.  Being happy is far more important than an exam result.  Time is on your side, so relax and enjoy life as it comes.  A happy childhood can never be replaced.  We are all children of the universe.  Good luck comrade!

  9. Let's not debate maturity here.

You're not 18 yet, which legally, still makes you a child.

Heck, I'm 19 and I still feel like a child, although looking back at my 14 year old self I can say that a lot has changed.

  10. Children should be treated according to their age and level of maturity.  Legally and technically you are still a child.

At 53, I think that 14 is very young.  But I've seen 14 year olds with more maturity than some in their 20s and 30s.

But no matter your age, you'll always be your parents child.

  11. Yes, you are still a child because you can't use CAPs for your 'I's and you need a  s p a c e  after full stops. You also don't need to say 'and' so much. You could try using therefor, so, in addition, also, etc. It would make you sound more grown-up.

Also: enjoy yout time as a child, it doesn't last long

  12. According to the law, you are considered a child right till you're 18.

    But i get your question.

People will always feel that they're matured at that certain age that they are now. When i was 14, i thought i was matured too. Now, at 17, i realised that i was very naive! I guess its human nature to think that they're more matured than they used to be at a younger age. So yes, you will think that you're immature now in the years to come.

14 year olds are in a group of their own. Sometimes they can act matured, sometimes they can act childish. So you can't say if they're more like a chid or more like an adult. it varies in different people. Generally, girls are more matured than guys (apologies if you're a guy) at that age.

    But don't worry okay :)

  13. You are still a child and i would enjoy doing fun stuff because later on in your life you are going to look back on your life and wish you had done something. Also you have to enjoy being a child because you will be going into work and wont get much social time.

    Hope this helped.

  14. Honey your a child, and please dont rush it enjoy your time being young

  15. Yeah your still a child beacause you haven't got much things you would want to do any way...lol.
