i will be turning 15 on this tuesday and i want to get my permit as early as possible. i have heard that if i start taking classes at 15 and get my permit at exactly 15 and a half, that i will only have one chance to take my behind the wheel, and if i fail that i have to retake permit classes. do permits expire?... what is the best thing to do, to get my permit as early as possible but still give myself time to retake behind the wheel if i happen to fail it.?

  1. your question is confusing but here is what i know:

your permit expires 2 years after it is issued.

you must be 15 to get a permit.

you dont fail behind the wheel..

  2. In most states your permit is good for 2 years and once you get it you have to have so many driving hours (during the day and night) completed and filled in a log before you can take your actual test for your driver's license - in my state it was 25 day hours and 10 night hours.   If you fail your first driving test to get your license then you can apply for a new date and it usually does not take long to get another date back....the two year period is plenty of time-most states will not let you get your license until your 16 anyway so you should be able to complete any necessary practice driving hours necessary.
