  1. College. You need a 4-year degree. There are aviation universities. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is great. If you want you can even start flight training at your age. I'm 15 and I've been taking lessons since I was 13.

  2. The ONLY way to build hours is flight instruction. I failed as a pilot because I didn't go there. You need 1,000 min hours to have any job as a pilot. If you can do it, get college degree and join USAF. Those jet jocks seem to get all the jobs. Have a backup plan in case the pilot gig doesn't work.

  3. Some make their start in a gliding club. as per the  answer above, hang out  at the airfield  and   some people will swap washing airplanes etc for airtime and instruction.

  4. Get out to your local airport. Offer to help any way you can, washing airplanes, sweeping floors, making it known that you are interested and enthusiastic. Make friends with some pilots and offer to help out in return for some airtime. We need more young people like you in the biz. If you are a good guy, pilots will recognize that and help you along. Flight school is expensive, start saving now.

  5. I knew a college freshman who became a pilot in his senior year of high school.

And your going to be the next one!...

Just after few months of training. Search it.

    :D

  6. The FAA has some great information on how to choose a school and what to look for when choosing a school. Since they are the ones who will certify you, I think they would be the best place to start. (PS - Even if you are not in the US, there is a lot of good information here.)

Once you've got that figured out, there is a whole heap more of information available through their web site starting with this stuff: http://www.faa.gov/pilots/training/

    Good luck and have fun!

  7. Take a look at some of these sites for info.

    http://eaa.org

That should give you enough to look at and ask a lot more questions.
