I am 16, and going to apply for a provisional driving license?

just wondering, dvla said that i can only get a moped license because im under 17.....but will they upgrade that to a proper provisional license when im 17 in a few months. or will i have to reapply

You provisional will automatically qualify you to learn to ride a moped at 16, a car at 17 and also a light motorcycle at 17.

The car and motorcycle entitlement will be on your provisional when you get it but it won't start till your 17.

i think u have to have provisional for both, not sure tho so dont quote me on that!

not 100% sure on that, best bet is to check your licence when it comes thru, if you have catergory A and B on your paper counterpart under provisional entitlement with the valid from date as your birthday then you are OK to go on your 17th.

If not, you can apply for provisional entitlement up to 3 months before your 17th
