  1. Go to City Hall & just ask them. Take your Mom along with you!

  2. You can go to your county courthouse and apply for a marriage license, but your parents will need to consent.

  3. 16 year olds are too immature for decisions like that. if you did it, you'd be divorced within a year. just wait, why the h**l do you have to do it now??!! it doesnt matter what your mom thinks. obviously she is confused too. i got married at 19, which is still too young!! lol. you WILL regret it.

  4. You have to get your legal guardian(s) to sign for you. I suggest that you at least wait until you graduate from high school and have a long engagement. Your love can only grow stronger (right?), so about two more years of waiting won't hurt and you can save up to have a big wedding or even buy a house.

  5. You must be black or mexican... hah just kiddin dont trip im mexican, but yea im no help, sorry, congrats thoug

  6. I would wait untill your 18 to tell the truth cause if u cant last till 18 then u cant last at all in the relationship lol

  7. I live in Michigan too, under age marriages are allowed BUT I do disagree with them. Your too young to get married. Your just a teenager and you are still growing into a young woman, your really still legally a child even though you don't feel like you are. I was married at 18 and that is too young and I can tell ya, most young marriages don't even last due to people realizing at an older age that it was "puppy love". If he realllllly honestly loves you and you realllly honestly love him, then WAIT until you are an adult and complete your education honey!!! What is your momma thing anyway to allow such a young marriage? By the way, where in Michigan are you?

    Mary in Camden, MI.

  8. what's the rush sweety? you have your whole life ahead of you...

  9. Well Im Srry To Say Dis But I Think Ur A Bit To Young And Its To Early But If U Wanna Go For It Go For It. But Just Dont Get Eachothers Name Tattooed On Eachother Lol =D

  10. Well first of all your 16 and still need to go through ellementary school and then middle school then high school and college there is no way you are not going to college it was the biggest mistake of my life im a obese guy that sits on my couch watching walker texas ranger all day and drinking red wine and crackers and cheese and i live in a trailor in Texas in the middle of no where and you dont want to end up like me do you so dont get married yet give it time and go through school first.

  11. you don't HAVE to be 18 you just have to have your parents consent.

why would you get married at 16?

if you know you are going to be with your boyfriend "forever" can't you wait until it's a good time to get married?

  12. You mother will be required to sign papers allowing you to get married & some states you still must appear before the Court.

Your mother will also have to produce ID and also custody papers if applicable.

I realize that you are very much in love, but if you stop to think about your future you should understand that you need an education.  Your boyfriend is probably thinking he can support you but what happens if there is ever an accident or illness that will require you to support the both of you?

You won't be able to do that with a paycheck from Wal Mart.

  13. Oh dear - you are young.  I'm not saying your love isn't real, it just seems like such a rush.  Have you considered waiting until you're 18?

Beyond that, I would ask your mom to help.  She will need to sign a consent form that allows you to get married, and she can help you call the right people to figure out bloodwork, etc.

I have to say that you should be able to find these things online on your own if you're really ready to get married.  It's a very mature decision that you should investigate on your own.

    Best to you.

  14. You need to be 18 to legally get married.  However, if your mom signs off on it, I think you can get by that.  Call the city office and ask to talk to the marriage department.  They can tell you what you need to do.

  15. Michigan :age to marry 18, 16 with parental consent, 15 and under with parental consent and probate judge approval.

You get the documents for a marriage liscence and get parental approval.

    My suggesstion is to WAIT.

  16. first, wait till your 18.

  17. Hey. There is a legal document that your mom has to sign and you guys can get married. That's it. And all you people that tell her that it's wrong.....you're probably just up tight parents with one picture in your mind. Girl if you love this guy and you can see being with him for the rest of your life no matter what.....go for it.

  18. You are too d**n young to get married...and your mother needs her head examined if she willingly allow her 16-year-old CHILD to get married. Good grief. What is wrong with parents these days?

  19. The legalities are simple enough; with parent's signature, you are legally good to go.  But in this day and age, that is scarcely enough: you can't legally make a contract, so the BF will have to sign for everything.  Also, you must make a financial plan: what revenues can be expected, what expenses can't be avoided, and will the former cover the latter.  (I bring this up because at your present ages you won't have a lot of education.)

  20. You need to be at least 18!!   So, ask back in 2 years.  Worry about finishing high school first!

  21. Wait until you're at least 18.

  22. Well first I know for a fact that you will have to have all your legal guardians sign the papers stating you can get married. I am not sure about you age limit there. Uhm it might be 17 but its not that long, the main thing is that your parents have to sign it in court and things like that..

    Good luck,

    Rose

  23. I was married when I was 17, almost 18. I was too young.

Experience life before you get married. It's a wide world out there to discover and appreciate.

If he isn't willing to wait, he is too young and inexperienced to see what life has to offer.

    Give freedom a chance.

I married too young, and so did way too many other people, and that is why 1 out of 2 marriages fail.

Good Luck in whatever you decide.

  24. I would have to agree with everyone else up to my answer.  You are too young.  You've been friends with him for 2 years, big deal.  I been friends with a male for over 15 years and we're not married.  I dated one guy for over 3 years, engaged, and we broke it off.  I was also dating another guy for over 2 years, and we never even got engaged.

I was older than you too.

First things first, you need to get an education.  If you get married, you'll probably end up pregnant, and then without an education, and can not get a decent job to care for your child.  Second of all, why rush?  You're 16.  You have many years of your life to live.  If he loves you, and you love him, love can still remain as a couple.

Just wait a few years.  Dating a year is nothing.  A marriage is supposed to be for life.  I've seen way too many children, and young adults getting married before 20 and 99% of them are divorced, or married for the 2nd time, and I even know of others who are divorced for the 2nd time.

    Love / Lust / Like

Four letter words.... begining with L.... so easily confused.  *sighs*

  25. go to a different country.

This is america. You have to wait till you're 18
