I am 16 and have been taking piano lessons for almost 10 years. I would like to be a piano teacher right now. I have a friend who started teaching piano when she was 16. How do I start?

  1. put up adds. spread the word. Or u could join a music store ask if they r hiring. I take piano lessons at my music store.

  2. start small. if any of your neighbors are interested in lessons, offer to have them come over your house and you teach him or her. this works especially with young kids, talk to their parents about it.

you could also go to a music store and ask them for a job.

maybe ask your friend where she started off giving lessons.

  3. send letters and a flyer to local elementary and middle school music teachers (and go visit your former music teachers) explaining who you are, what training you have, your rates and your contact info. Once you get a few students word of mouth is the best advertisement. Good luck

  4. I honestly don't know but I would teach a sibling or friend for practice then buy materials.  It's cool that you can play.  I can a bit but I quit my lessons twice.

  5. put up fliers in school and around the neighborhood!

  6. Ask your piano teacher.

  7. This is my piano teacher ->

    .

  8. just tutor some kids around your neighborhood for a while. then, once word spreads you can get more serious. you are only 16 now, anyway. wait till you go finish school to know what you really want to be.

ha, sounds like you know a lot. wish you could teach my sister piano. she sucks at playing

    =D

  9. Send out flyer's and post flyers at local pre-schools,elementary schools,  the library, and colleges.
