I am starting a job and want to open a checking acount to deposit my checks. I am talking about a real checking account with the ability to write checks and have a debit card. Is this at all possible? I somewhat sure that it is. Please help me solve this problem. Please provide specific information on opening a checking account and what steps I may need to take to make it possible.

  1. This is complicated but please try to follow along.  Call the bank and ask them.

  2. Yes ,Yes and Yes you can providing you have a State issued I.D. Just go in and do it.

  3. yah its possible. i am not sure at chase but im 13 and i m getting one (just a debit card) through charter 1. my mom has an account so i dont know if you need to have a parent at the same bank.  hope i helped!!!

  4. Step1: put your picture ID and social security card in your pocket, along with $100

    Step2:go to the bank

Step3:walk in and yell loudly: "I'M HERE TO OPEN A CHECKING ACCOUNT!"

Step4:smile while everyone breaks out in applause and congratulations and high-fives

(note: except for the yelling, that's really how you do it!)

(oh, and there won't really be any applause, either, sorry).

p.s. there are different kinds of checking accounts, make sure to get one with few or hopefully NO monthly fees

  5. FOR MY DAD IT DEPENDS ON THE KID. TODAY I GOT THE CHASE HIGH SCHOOL CHECKING ACCOUNT FOR THOSE 13-17. IT IS LINKED TO A PARENTS ACCOUNT. MY PACKAGE COMES WITH A VISA CHECK CARD. THERE ARE NO SERVICE FEES. ALL THE RULES APPLY WITH THIS ACCOUNT EXCEPT IF YOU OVERDRAFT IT IS TAKEN FROM YOUR PARENTS. SO BE CAREFUL. IT CONVERTS TO A FREE CHECKING ACCOUNT WHEN YOU TURN 19.
