  1. Okay, if you're in Britain, you'll be entitled to careers advice from Connexions-they help you with things like getting into education or finding a job and give you tips on interviews and writing a cv.

Just give them a call (its free i think) and tell them your situation and they should give you all the advice you need, good luck hun x.

  2. soooo you didn't even finish high school then? you need to do that first of all. Then you need to get into a college.."full" is no excuse. You are not trying hard enough, nothing will be handed to you if you dont really go for it.

  3. Surely there is some job out there that you can find temporarily...even look at part time jobs...look at resturants and catering services....don't just look at the jobs you initially really wanted.  Try looking on Craigslist for jobs in your area as well as career sites...go online and also look at the websites of specific places...stores, companies, maybe there's a cultural/arts website for your area that lists jobs in the arts (if that interests you).  But basically your main focus should be trying to get into a college either for the Spring or for next Fall.  I don't know how many places you applied for, but apply to a lot this next time...like 9-10 and make sure you don't just apply to all "reach" schools...apply to realistic ones and also ones that you kinda don't want to go to as well but will definitely let you in and will give you scholarships.  Going to college should be your No. 1 goal...getting a job should be secondary...and anyway...how did you graduate high school at 16?  If you were smart enough to do this, then surely you can get into a decent college.  And trust me...you do want a college education...people have enough trouble finding good jobs...with a degree you will have many more options.   The idea is to find a good school and try not to rack up too much debt in the process.  Yes, you can find jobs without school.  But your overall earning potential is lower.  Yes, you can get lucky, but it is a risk that many people aren't willing to take.

  4. try an internet survey site. you are paid for filling out online surveys. it maybe what you want.

  5. find a rich husband, try a golf course.....

  6. How about an apprenticeship, you'll get paid whilst you learn anything from hairdressing to being an electrician. It's not a great wage but at the end of the 1 or 2 year apprenticeship you may just have a great job already lined up for you will the company you did your apprenticeship for. Pop into connextions or check out the website below and they'll give you more information and the ones  available in your area. I started doing an accountancy one, they pay was good for being 16 at £120 a week, i didn't finish it due to other circumstances but i loved it.

  7. Go back to college mate - don't forget a lot of students start college then drop out, so you may still have a chance to get in. I didn't get very far in education and still regret it. If I didn't have my own business I would be in some badly paid c**p job. Don't make the mistakes I made. College is the way.

If that fails then make sure you get in next year.

  8. i left school at 16! Dint go to college or Uni so don't listen to people who say you will get nowhere without further exams behind you!

Stay positive. i am now working in London with relevant qualifications behind me for career i have chosen.

Local papers are always a good choice to start looking x also head down to local job seekers and choose something to tie you over money wise until the perfect job comes up!

Family and friends are also a good option to ask for further advice and support.

    Good luck

  9. don't no.

  10. I sure there are places out there in colleges - try ringing round again!

  11. Are you seriously trying to say that in the whole of the country there isn't a single job that you can do?

Get your butt down the job centre and use those little touch screen machines to search for a job in your area. Failing that try looking on jobcentreplus.com they have lots of info on jobs that are open.

Failing that try looking at the back of newspapers etc

There must be a restaurant/table serving/admin assistant/office junior job you can do.

You just have to do alot of searching - dont expect it to fall in your lap.

Write a CV,. print loads of copies out and then just go around town during the day and give them to people working behind counters in shops.

Dont expect anything glamorous - just find something that will give you some money to tie you over whilst your figuring out which career/job/professional direction you want to go in. Try going to some hotels i your area - maybe they've got a waiter/kitchen/porter job going!

    Anythings better than nothing

There are jobs out there your just not looking hard enough!

    x*x

  12. Try your local newspapers, they advertise jobs in there.

Try adding your CV to sites such as Monster.co.uk

You'll soon find something, just don't give up!
