I am 16 years old and i am having hip joint and coccyx pain. What is the cause of this and what is a possible treatment?

  1. Definitely inform your parents of this new pain and get an appointment with your Doctor. Pain is our body's way of telling us something is going on. Of course it's likely nothing too serious, but you would probably just an x-ray to rule out any conditions and try and figure out what's going on.

    Sometimes even the smallest things (that we may not be aware of can put strain on our joints). So, it could just be a pull and the pain is radiating into the joint. Also, with the spine pain, that pain could be radiating into the hip. At one point I'd injured my L4-L5 discs of my spine and it was bizarre the pain I first experienced was in my left hip. It's interesting on pain manifests itself.

    At this point, your best bet is seeing your Doctor!

  2. You need to see a doc for a good evaluation.  It may be muscle, connective tissue or bone issues.  Since you simply stated that you hurt there, and no other information about how that may have come about, you need to see a doc.
