I live in LA county. Is it more expensive because it was in a residential area?? Also, I cannot make the court date and cannot make the other dates because I will not be in town due to school. Is it required for minors to attend juvenile court for traffic violations?

  1. I would advise you fighting this ticket.  You can fight it via mail, just call the court house and request the information concerning where to mail your information and what they want/expect.

A 45mph in a 25 should cost around $850.  Keep in mind that the vast majority of the expense will be in increased insurance.  Your premiums are going to spike tremendously.

It's not necessarily more expensive because it was a residential, but the judge will be less willing to significantly reduce the cost because it was a residential.  Remember that if a kid ran into the street and you were going 40 there would be no way to stop and this would be far more serious.

You don't go to juvenile court, you just go to traffic court.
