I was driving my mothers car and I was stopped by the police for speeding and they ran my info and than they came back to the car to say i had an outstanding warrant from three years ago for not appearing in court for destruction of property which i do not really remember.

They told me to get out of the car and i guess i just panicked and ran.

I have to go to court this week for the outstanding warrant which i do not remember and they charged me with speeding and for invading arrest. Will i loose my license or get jail time?

  1. More than likely, you will not lose your license.  However, you are probably going to spend some time in jail, fines, and possibly probation.  If you get on probation, then your PO may inform you that you cannot drive!

  2. Quite likely both.  Sorry.

  3. Strangely enough, unless your state (you didn't say which) has a rule for provisional licenses, it will depend on the amount you were speeding whether or not you lose your license.

The evading arrest and warrants COULD result in jail time, again depending on the severity of the charges.  I suspect once you explain to the prosecutor/judge, you will more likely see a fine and probation.
