I am 17- on many occasions I have felt my right shoulder pop out of its socket then pop back in quickly

for instance, i was pitching a baseball- during my motion, i felt a cracking noise, 5 quick times instantly (like when u crack ice), then i felt my shoulder pop out, then back in quickly- i was in pain, and it felt numb for a moment-

another time i was throwing a football, and it just popped out, then back in quickly-

another time i was play-wrestling

yes, i was physical during these times, but something seems to be wrong-

-thanks everyone

  1. You sound like you could be double jointed. That happens to double jointed people a lot. Best thing to do is lay off sports and see an MD.

  2. The best thing might be to ask your doctor. But bad news is that he may tell you that you might have discontinue your extra curricular activities.

There will be pain when your joint are popping out like that.

My friend's knee pops in and out occasionally too and she might have to quit playing soccer and volleyball to prevent something worse from occurring.

  3. check with you dr.

  4. i am 17 too and i cheer and play softball. this used to happen to me when i tumbled or threw a softball, so i went to the doctors office and they took xrays but didn't find anything. at first my GP didn't know what was wrong so he sent me to a sports med doctor. the sports med doctor gave me a list of exercises to do to help make my shoulder stronger. it didn't 100 percent fix the problem but ever since i started doing the stretches my shoulder has only popped out twice. you should go to a sports med doctor so they can help you more... good luck and if you have any more questions or want to know some of the stretches, redsoxfan5891@yahoo.com is my email
