  1. Taekwando should have no affect on your reproductive system. Normally the physical activity would be helpful in keeping you fit and healthy. If anything inactivity and poor fitness would have bad affect on all of your body's systems.

Regular work outs and training should help keep you more able to cope with menstrual problems. There are times when you may want to reduce your level of work out for a day or two.

Working out helps in all areas of fitness, even strengthens the immune system.

  2. no it wont depending if Ur using protection . such as gear but u always use gear. so you don't really have to worry about that, you might have just started the 4 block .

I'm a Blue Belt in TDK

  3. Yes, it's possible.  If you are doing a lot of exersize, the stress on your body could cause you not to ovulate, and not to have a period.  But you can always go to a gynocologist if you are worried about something being wrong.

Some girls who play sports or exercise intensely are at risk for a problem called female athlete triad. Female athlete triad is a combination of three conditions: disordered eating, amenorrhea, and osteoporosis. A female athlete can have one, two, or all three parts of the triad.

some girls who train really hard may skip many menstrual periods, or they may get their period at a late age, especially if they have lost weight or have developed an eating disorder. Girls may begin to skip periods if they are not getting enough nutrition, or if there is too much stress on their body from sports. This stress lowers estrogen levels, which may cause skipped periods. Low estrogen levels and a lack of menstrual periods can lead to osteoporosis (weakened bones) and stress fractures (small cracks) in your bones.

  4. of course. You would look more like a man than a women if you over practice.

  5. It will make your hormones more active.

  6. Only if your pregnant, otherwise your fine.  If you get hit in the stomach it will hurt but you will heal, however in TKD you wear protective gear anyway.

    Hope this helps :-)

  7. Saturn gave you a great answer in my opinion.

    I agree with that.

  8. It is possible that right at the start of a new physical activity, you would see some disruption in your cycle, especially if you had not been doing very much physical activity in the time leading up to the start.   However, this should not last.

The physical activity should not affect your reproductive system directly, but the physical activity and muscle tone should make you much healthier generally.  Your cramps may be less bad during your period.

Unless you are doing a lot of full contact sparring, you should not be receiving enough hits to the stomach to cause any damage - if you are being repeatedly kicked in the stomach, however, I would try to find a new dojang!

In conclusion, there is the possibility of minor disruption in your cycle to start, but in the long term there should be no real effect.  Just make sure to eat healthily and you will be fine!  (Also, enjoy TKD!  I just reached my red belt and I absolutely love it!)
