I am going on a cruise on the Norwegian Spirit in March, (I will be 18). Will there be any people my age, and will me and my friends have fun? Also, I was wondering if the nightclub is any good.

  1. I've also returned from the Spirit this past Sunday.  You will have other people your age on board, but I would seriously advise you to reconsider booking a different cruise line.  We love cruising and we were terribly disappointed with Spirit.  The activities seemed pretty limited (I wasn't really impressed with the nightclub, honestly), and the food was horrible.  Also, the ship was terribly in need of several repairs and refurbishments.  You'll have fun in the ports, but you'd probably have more fun on sea days with a different cruise line.  Also, I have to warn you that several people taking this cruise have received letters the week before they leave informing them that there is a mechanical problem with the ship which results in losing a day in port.  I received a notification the Wed. before I left, but from what I've read on other websites, the ship has had this issue for at least a month and the cruiseline isn't notifying people when they purchase their ticket, or even several days in advance, usually just 3-4 days before departure.  In addition, the entire time we were on the ship, people were getting sick left and right with the GI infection, and the ship had to cancel several events because of it.  I think you would get your money's worth and have a better time on another cruise line.

  2. Oh yes there will be plenty, You will have a great time live it up.

  3. I have cruised on the Spirit and there was a lot of teenagers on board, they tended to group together and have a good time by the pool and games area.

The nightclub was fun with a mixture of music to suit all ages.

You will have a great time.

  4. NCL does not allow cruisers under 21 to travel without someone over 21 in their cabin or adjoining cabin, so make sure to check on that if you aren't travelling with your family!

  5. i just got home from this same cruise on sunday (exotic western caribbean right?? 7 days... roatan, santo tomas, belize, cozumel)

and yes... there will be people ur own age.  just roam around ur first 'at sea' day and start up some conversations... trust me, everyone is friendly and wants to meet new people. that's part of the fun of the cruise.

you and ur friends will definitely have fun... if you love sun and relaxing ull do great. the nightclub is pretty nice and has things going on every night (for example there was a spirit idol that was fun to watch) during the day, the nightclub is an amazing spot to sit and see out at the ocean because it is in the front and all windows.

the restaurants are all really nice but be sure to make reservations in the specialty restaurants (including la trattoria) otherwise ull never get in.

id also advise you to be warned that roatan is an EXTREMELY poor city and really scared me when i got off, mostly because of how surprised i was at how run down and dirty it was. its NOT a safe city. if you dont have an excursion planned, i would suggest just staying on the ship for ur own safety.

but otherwise... i had a pretty great time and would recamend the cruise to anyone!!

have fun and email me if you want to know anything else! :)
