I am 18 yrs old,& live with my ant.can my ant adopt me legally without my parents consent?

i need to be adopted by my ant because both parents play no role in my life.n i need to start college and my parents will not help.my ant is willing to adopte me

It's called divorcing your parents and yes you can do it. But, eventhough is doable i'd say contact an attorney you never know, you might run into some trouble.

Why be adopted you are an adult. You have a better chance of getting grants and aid for college if you are supporting yourself.

You're too old to be adopted.  You are an adult.  If you are wanting to attend college, and need help with Financial aid, perhaps your aunt can provide the necessary verification you need for your application.  After all you are living with her, so she can file you on her taxes (up to your 23rd birthday) and serve somewhat as a guardian since you may be listed with a dependent status.

It depends on the state  you are in.I was gonna be adopted by a great elderly couple in wyoming and as Long as I was over the legal age it was gonna be allowed.good luck
