I believe I have dyslexia when i was young cause I remember I can't differentiate between d and b, g and q and stuffs like that. I have never passed my spelling test my entire life and dictation were like an impossible thing to pass. I can remember what happened years ago but I just cant remember what just happened. Although i get good grades in school, I am still worried about not being able to remember school stuffs. I just can't remember especially when it involves a whole paragraph or something. It looks more like a whole chunk of alphabet to me. I can be reading over and over again but I still can't understand it cause to me how can I understand or remember a chunk of alphabet. There was an incident where someone talked to me in school and she asked me some stuffs as if we have talked before. She knows my name, what major I am studying and even knows I am in my final year. I am really confused cause I have no idea who she is and I just don't remember her. I asked one of my classmate and I was told that the girl once sit beside me during a seminar and we talked. I seriously did not remember that incident. Can anybody tell me what is wrong with me and what can I do to solve this problem? Do I actually have dyslexia and can it be cured? How bad is my memory compared to normal people?

  1. Hi,you can use herbs to improve your memory read the below article.

Does it sound bizarre?  Using herbs to improve memory have long been practiced not only by those in the United States, but in other countries as well.  The American Indians, Orientals, Egyptians, and Greeks have all used herbs to enhance the mind.

Spicy foods are said to increase the cognitive functions of your brain, and there are several spicy herbs available.

Have you ever heard of turmeric?  May be curry?  Well, turmeric is an ingredient in curry.  Curcumin is an ingredient in turmeric, which in turn works to improve your memory.  It reduces the effects of diseases like Alzheimer’s disease.  Ginger is another herb, containing zingerone, which defends the neurons of the brain to improve memory.  Cinnamon is a brain activity booster; simply smelling it enhances cognitive function and lifts the mood.  All these wonderful spices can be found in your local grocery store, usually on the isle with the basic cooking ingredients such as flour and sugar.

Health food stores abound in the United States.  They’ve become more popular for the youth of today alone.  Health food stores can also benefit adult shoppers.  They offer things like ginkgo biloba, touted as the best herb to improve blood flow to the brain.  Suggested use is 80 mg, 3 times a day.

Another herb found in health food stores which increases memory and guards against senility is gotu kola.  It has a calming effect.  Suggested use is 1/2 teaspoon in warm water 3 times a day.

Siberian Ginseng can help the body adapt to stress, helps promote a strong, balanced nervous system, and gives a mild energy boost.  Suggested use is 250 mg, 2 times a day.

Before partaking in the benefits of any of these suggested herbs, please do your research and make sure they won’t have a negative interaction with any medications you are currently taking.  The idea is to improve your memory, not further damage your health in another way.

Herbs don’t just serve to improve your memory by oral ingestion.  A popular way to stimulate your brain these days is by aromatherapy.  Some herbs can be heated in either water or as an ingredient in a candle, maybe even as an ingredient for use with a potpourri burner placed on a cloth as an essential oil to inhale, or simply burned as incense.  Aromatherapy can be done as a low-cost addition to your steps towards good mental health.  It clears the mind, helps you relax, sharpens your ability to focus, and improves your mood.  Two essential oils to use in aromatherapy to help improve memory are rosemary and basil.  Although, anything that is pleasant to your nose will help you calm your thinking so that you can focus more clearly and feel uplifted in spirit.

An important thing to consider is whether you would rather slow down your lifestyle now and begin to take proper care of your mind and body, or whether you’d rather suffer more later as you’ve aged and have more trouble undoing the effects of your neglect.  It’s never too late to adapt a positive outlook and take charge of yourself! you can visit this site for more information http://www.usefulmemoryimprovementguide....

  2. write it down. I had chemotherapy and sometimes it's hard for me to remember too so you're not alone in that boat.

  3. lay off the drugs

  4. first things first. you need to talk to the school counselor and your doctor. tell them that you think you have dyslexia.  YOu will be tested for it and they can help you.

As for not remembering anything, start taking flax seed pills. flax seed is great for the mind and its memory.  Tell the doc that you have a hard time remembering things and you need to know if that's linked to the possibility of having dyslexia.

  5. Actually, you don't sound too horrible. The dyslexia is understandable, many people have it, even some 'normal" people can't tell the difference between a b and d right away.. I know I can't and sometimes I have to write them out and stare at them for a minute.

Af for remembering the girl, that also happens to alot of people. I know i've met people and hung out with them, but i'll see them the next day and have no idea who they are. Sometimes even people I've met several times i have a hard time remembering.. If it happens again, just say sorry, I have a hard time remembering names and faces, and I'm sure they'll understand. You hear it from alot of people.

If you're worried about remembering things, write it down. Then read it over. You said you have a hard time with paragrahs, here is what you do:

break it into sections., If its something you wrote, just write one sentance on each page, or better yet, use cue cards.. Yes, its a waste of paper, but it will help. Then you only have a few words instead of alot. If its in a book, try and only show a few words by covering the rest up with a piece of paper. Its about breaking it down into manageable chunks.

If you're on a computer you can get software that can read things out to you. This would really help if you are trying to study. Just have the computer read it to you, and sit back and listen. Even if you don't feel like you're getting it, listen to it a few times and try not to focus on any specific part, and you willremember it subconciously.

If you need anymore help, let me know, but hopefully that is enough to get you started!
