Right now am just a college student.

I have always wanted to be rich, not to show off or spend it like its my last day on Earth but just to have and to help others now and then.

Without pointless scams and people claiming they are millionaires and turn back around and ask me for money, what can I do to become one?

  1. The lotto. Or go to scouts for like acting. What do you want to pursue in your career.

  2. lotto

  3. Become a pro ball player.

  4. making p**n movies.

  5. If there was an easy way to do that, everyone would do it and a hamburger would cost $10,000.

Don't rob a bank either.  The average bank robber only gets about $1500 and serves 4-8 years in federal prison for it.  I have a friend who successfully robbed 2 before he got caught on his third try.  If he'd gotten away from the third one, he would have only had a total of $80k from all of them, and this was a guy with an MBA and top notch grades who actually got into the vault to pocket all he could carry.  Drug dealing, imbezzlement, etc are all very bad ideas...

Now, there ARE legal ways to get rich quick, but they're not very likely to happen, and usually not very pleasant.

p**n is actually a really easy way to become wealthy, especially if you're an attractive young woman who owns the company instead of only being an actress.  It's practically a recession proof industry that costs very little to start up and you can charge a premium because people don't really comparison shop, nor do they want to.  Of course, the drawbacks of getting rich off p**n are pretty obvious.

Then there are careers in acting, music, sports, etc.  Somehow I don't see any of those in your future.

Since you have a Robotics Engineering major, you stand a very good chance at getting a high paying job after college.  You probably won't be a millionaire by the time you're 25, but if you live a very modest lifestyle and do smart things with your money (cheap house, older car, eating in, no extravagent purchases, stable marriage, few children, sound investments, etc) you could well be a millionaire by the time you're 35 or 40.

As an engineer, if you can come up with a new idea or even just a way of improving something that's already done and then marketing it to the right people, you could become one of those success stories like the founders of Google, etc.  The days of instant dot.com 20-something millionaires popping up everywhere are past, though.

The fastest, simplest, most likely, and often riskiest, way to become a millionaire is through owning your own business.  That's how most millionaires got where they are, and that way you're not only getting paid a portion of the money you make someone else.  Try to find something you can do very well, hopefully enjoy doing, and figure out ways to apply that to make money.

  6. gambling VEGASS BABYYY LOL

  7. getting rich doesn't happen overnight.  Investing and saving every penny while you are young is the best way to do it for sure.  Some people just stumble into it by sheer luck like the lottery or hitting it big in the stock market.  I suggest a plan with a financial advisor at edward jones or ameriprise financial or something like that.  They can show you exactly how much you need to save in order to be rich someday.

  8. read the millionaire next door. It's a book

  9. Win the lottery.

Who would want to be a millionaire? I'm happy having the things that I have and not worrying that my lights will be turned off. How could anyone want more than that?
