I am 20 yrs old and my dad claimed me as a dependent cuz i was living there for a while do i still get a tax?

  1. no you would have had to file your own tax return.

    Ask your father maybe he will share his. By claiming you he got a better overall return and an additional $300 by claiming you.

  3. If you are claimed as a dependent and are 17 or older - neither you, nor your parents get a rebate.  Sorry, that is just how the rebate tax law was written...

    You may be able to qualify for the rebate on your 2008 tax return if your parents do not claim you on their 2008 tax return.

  4. I assume that you were correctly claimed as a dependent.

    You will not receive a stimulus payment because you were claimed as a dependent.

    Your father will not receive an increased stimulus payment because of your dependency exemption.
